Black Swan Lake Proposed Wetland Management Plan

A Draft Wetland Management Plan for Black Swan Lake has been prepared. As part of the City’s Wetland Management Plan preparation process, local residents and other stakeholders are invited to comment on the document (Proposed Plan).

The primary aim of the Management Plan is to conserve the natural environment of the area while allowing compatible community access for appreciation and passive recreation.

The objectives of the Wetland Management Plan are to:
  • Protect and conserve the natural values of the area including vegetation and fauna habitats;
  • Promote the area as a conservation, passive recreation and education resource for the use and enjoyment of the local community;
  • Outline a long-term strategy for the management of existing vegetation and habitat and implementation of restoration strategies;
  • Identify management and implementation responsibilities.
You are invited to make a submission in relation to the proposed management plan.
